Squared is a large colorful abstract artwork. It will print up to 72 inches on the long side. I wanted it to be colorful without leaning to neon. The colors in the piece are both warm and cool.
This is the first in a series of four. As art squares have been done many times. This is my interpretation. The pattern is more of a basket weave as the squares are not of equal size. I thought that gave the piece movement rather than a feeling of vertigo as squares of equal value may do.
I started this series in 2018 but it took the boredom of the 2020 Corona Virus Lockdown to complete. Trying to keep to randomness in size and color was more tedious than fun.
